Extreme Serendipity and a new old housemate....

Here's a pic (borrowed from Roswitha's pond grotto) to herald a return to a peaceful full house here at the Osborne Estate and Gardens.

We were interviewing potential new homies through July, which is always interesting and a little nerve-wracking. There is a fine balance between waiting for Someone Good to show up and securing rent for the next due-date! This of course falls on moi.

Up until mid-month, the options were scarce. No one seemed a perfect fit.

Dryden looked at me sideways and said Cheryl! You're usually good at this!

I said Ya! This just means that Someone Good has yet to appear. We must hold steady. Keep the faith. Bla bla.

On the second-to-last Sunday of the month, I set up one last window to interview the last applicants: between 10 am and noon. After that--I declared--we're going to make our choice!

Such a game-show.

Maybe you'll believe this.

At approximately 11 am, Jordana and I were in mid-interview with a decent fella when a taxi pulled up...and out jumped Alejandro...with his luggage...straight from the airport.

Hola. He says. Do you have a room?

Alejandro is an awesome previous house-mate who left almost a year to the day ago. He had lost his phone so didn't have our number.

We politely thanked Applicant X whose bum was currently warming our hotseat and watched him walk out to the street.

Alejandro. I said. Take your bags upstairs.

Thank-you universe :D
